Excellent product, I was really skeptical how it would work but after a few weeks there is no doubt that it is a great product, the design is quite modern and sleek and the best part is super quiet

The LG PuriCare Tower definitely looks and feels futuristic, with its obelisk design, bold LED display, center vane wedge and filter intake grill. But depending on your home decor it’s large enough to really stand out at around 4’ tall and that may not be a good thing as it’s design aesthetics may not age well.
That said the unit itself does an excellent job of nearly silently purifying your air up to 818 sq ft and has a ton of other neat features that separates it from competitors.
First things first, make sure to remove all the wrapping and vinyl on the unit before use, particularly on the filter in the bottom housing which is attached by magnets. The filter is wrapped in plastic so it obviously it will not function well if the plastic is not removed. There’s a little tag that tells you to remove the wrapper, and both the quick start and manual also mention it.
I wouldn’t call this tower a fan really, even at max 10 speed you will feel some breeze but at the cost of a lot of noise. I would say it is more of an air circulator. Sitting 15 feet away I do feel some air circulation but I wouldn’t call it a breeze.
One of the best feature of the PuriCare is that it oscillated and has a range of 45 degrees to 140. This is easily controlled via Remote. The remote is small and has a textured metal feel and it is magnetized and can stick to the back of the PuriCare tower on the back side which is pretty neat. I set to Auto (speed 5) and oscillate to 90 degrees and let it run constantly. You can also set timers to have the unit turn off. Auto also enables the UV bacteria killing feature.
Settings like Turbo and 10 are definitely too loud but 5 is silent. You want to save those high speed settings for maybe kid or pet accidents; or bad cooking to get rid of the odors.
You can also control this unit using LG’s thinQ app that gives similar functionality as the remote. Also there is a larger support base that is recommended so the unit doesn’t tip over, just line up the | lines on the support and from of the unit to lock it in.
Overall I’m very happy with the PuriCare Tower but I would definitely classify it as an air purifier more than a fan, as it is super loud when set to speeds high enough for meaningful breeze. My main concern is how this unit will look in your home 5-10 years from now. I try to furnish my home with more traditional rather than contemporary stylings and this is definitely very futuristic looking.

This is one of the best Air Purifiers I’ve tried. As not only does it clean the room, but it doubles as a fan, and is highly customizable. You can tell a ton of engineering went into this as they nailed a lot of the small things. It is larger and heavier than I thought it was going to be at 3.7 feet and 27 lbs. making it feel very solid and well put together. It can also move a serious amount of air. They rate it for up to 818 square feet which is more than most other air purifiers I have found at this price point. But the filter is rather small, smaller than any of the other ones I own which clean less square feet. They report it should be replaced (assuming “normal” use) about once a year. Filter replacements are quite expensive at $129.99 though.
You have three different fan modes. The first is very focused (like a beam for a single individual) called “direct” and is great for cooling down after a workout or from coming in from outside on a hot day, or keeping you cool at night. But the device itself doesn’t have air conditioning or heat so just takes the ambient temperature of the room. Then you have “wide” fan mode where instead of being very focused it spreads it out more like a normal fan. Last, you have a mode that closes the “fins” and pushes the air upward out the top of the device, so you don’t feel air moving around at all called “diffusion”. Which is my favorite and great for people who are sensitive like me to air flow or during the winter when it is cold. The fan itself is extremely quiet at the lower settings. They report 23 dB. For comparison the noise floor for a quiet room tends to be about 32 dB so that’s impressive. Even when set to high (fan level 10) it is quiet, I clocked it at 56 – 57 dB but is the correct tone that makes it seem even quieter.
The LED display looks good and provides a ton of information. At a glance you can see if UV is on or off, if you’re connected to wifi, the air quality of the room, and what fan setting you’re on. Which is more than I’m used to. By pressing the info button you also get how clean the air is in basic English (good, moderate, unhealthy, poor), the actual micron levels based on three different levels (PM2.5, PM 1.0, PM 10), and last the temperature and humidity of the room. Which is a new one for me as I’ve never seen that before and is one of my favorites. You can change the brightness from bright (100%), moderate (60%), dim (10%), and completely off (0%). When it is off, and you press a button the display will illuminate (at the dim setting) and then turn back off after a very short period. Which I like as I tend to use it in my room at night.
The device comes with physical touch capacitive buttons on the top along with a physical button remote. What is unique is that you have the same button combinations on both. You have your primary controls with dedicated buttons, then secondary controls by holding certain buttons down, and tertiary controls by pressing two buttons. Giving you a ton of customizability. Such as brightness levels, fan levels, fan type (diffuse, direct, wide), and oscillation (45, 60, 90, and 140 degrees), if the buttons are locked or not, and if it jingles or not when you turn it on/off. I did find that the oscillation is very slow and is one of my few cons. Along with that you can press a button to make it center itself and need to either wait for it to be centered and press the button or move it yourself (which I’m always hesitant to do out of fear of breaking it). The buttons on the device itself are capacitive/touch and are very responsive. The remote has physical buttons that feel great to use (mild pre/post travel with a strong satisfying quiet click) and is small, comfortable, and sturdy with an attractive design. It can attach to the side of the device if you want via magnets which is sweet. Last, with the LG ThinQ app you can connect to the device via Bluetooth/Wireless and have all the same controls. But I found the app to be rather slow (to connect but once connected is fast) and it tended to be faster for me to just use the remote or physical buttons to get something done. It also has a sleep mode which is interesting where you can do it for 1 – 12 hours at a time.
Overall, this air purifier/fan really took me by surprise and is a lot better than I originally thought it was going to be. My only complaints are that it is very large making it hard to place somewhere, is heavy making it harder to move around, with the modern look it may not jive well with some environments, oscillation is slow, and it doesn’t reorient itself automatically. Mine also came mildly defective as it was slightly tilted to the left and when you looked at the base you could see that the left side had almost no gap where the right side had a large gap. Thankfully, the fix was easy. I just laid the fan on its side and pulled mildly on the left side and it popped out to the original spot it is supposed to be in and it is now even. So now I have a large gap around the entire thing over a small one.

I was excited to receive the LG PuriCare AeroTower Smart HEPA Air Purifying Fan as the pollen and dust has been terrible this year and thought it may help. I have other air purifiers but this is the first unit with an fan as well. This is a big feature for our home as we need a fan solution to move cooler AC air around the house.
Unpacking – the box and unit are sizable but manageable. The AeroTower weighs just under 30 pounds so it is a substantial piece of equipment. Unboxing is straight forward by cutting the strapping and pulling the cover off the base/unit. There is tape and cardboard holding moving parts in place and a bag on the filter that needs to be removed before getting started. The battery needs to be installed in the remote control. From there the unit can be plugged in and is ready to operate.
Setup – Before turning the unit on I would recommend downloading the LG THINQ app. and connect the AeroTower with the setup instructions. Our AeroTower is placed on a balcony area outside our master bedroom. This is done to be able to clean the air in both rooms and to blow cooler air into our bedroom. At this point the AeroTower can be powered on with the touch controls on the top of the unit, the included remote control or with the THINQ app. The app was great since it provides additional air quality details, scheduling and easy to understand controls such as Mode, Speed, Rotation, screen brightness and UVnano operation.
Controls – As previously mentioned the AeroTower can be controlled with touch controls on the unit itself, the THINQ app or remote control. The controls are multi-functional when depressed for 2-3 seconds which provides for even more controls and customization. Controls on the unit are power, fan speed, mode, rotation (WiFi setup) and auto. The remote control’s buttons mirror those functions found on the tower.
Function – The AeroTower has exceeded expectations in terms of its ability to purify air and work as a fan. The “mode” feature is one of my favorites as the fan output direction and strength can be adjusted from wide, diffused and direct airstreams. We use the direct setting and purified air is pushed almost 15 feet into our bedroom. Both the app and the LED display on the tower shows the existing air quality in a range from good, moderate, unhealthy to poor. When it was first turned on it was in the “moderate” range and has since changed to “good” with use over the course of a week. The noise level is very comfortable even when set to 10 on the fan speed. Turbo is a bit on the loud side, but we frequently use it at that speed.
The combination of the HEPA filter and LG’s UVnano technology provides a piece of mind that air is being purified to the utmost degree. The HEPA filter is good for a year and is a snap to remove from the tower.
    Pros:
    – Great build quality and contemporary design
    – Ability to purify air and function as a fan is bonus
    – THINQ app is super easy to use and provides total control for the tower
    – Quiet operation
    – HEPA filter and UVnano technology combine to provide piece of mind
    Cons:
    – Unit is approximately 28 lbs. so it’s not easily moved (although there is a built in handle)
Overall the LG PuriCare AeroTower has exceeded our expectations and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an air purifier system. It’s loaded with features, provides air quality feedback and is a good looking unit.

The LG Aero Tower air purifying fan is well worth the price if you value air quality as much as I do. I suffer from allergies so high air quality is especially important to me. This air purifier is for anyone that puts a premium on air quality. As I previously indicated I am very sensitive to air quality, so this unit is a welcome addition to my home. Not only does it have a fabulously stylish look, but it also keeps the air clean and the room feeling cool.
The box it is packaged in is very tall and quite large. The tower itself is also much heavier than it looks, coming in at nearly 30 pounds. Setup consisted of a couple of quick easy steps. Just plug it in, download the ThingQ app and scan the QR code to pair. Since it is Wi-Fi capable, it can be controlled from anywhere using the App. The App is not required to use the device, but not using it will deprive you of the advanced features that the LG Aero Tower offers. Not only is it controllable by App, but it can also be controlled by voice from Alexa or Google Assistant.
After using it for 5 days, I am very impressed with its performance. The already good air quality in my bedroom has noticeably improved. I especially like that it gives me a measurement of air quality, temperature and humidity. The UV light should further assist in sanitizing the internal fan blades and air that is being circulated.
The fan noise is nearly imperceptible at the lower speeds. At the highest Turbo speed the fan is somewhat louder. I keep it on high at night because I subjectively like the white noise it creates as it helps me sleep. If a maximum cooling power fan is what you want then this may not be what you are looking for, as the HEPA filter reduces the air flow somewhat. This is not a design flaw, but is due to the effectiveness of the filter. The more effective a filter is, the more air flow is reduced. That is whyy many HVAC techs recommend not getting a high MERV filter, as it reduces air flow and puts a strain on the HVAC system. With that being said I am completely satisfied with the cooling capacity and I think most people will be as well.
The LG Aero Tower has a fabulously stylish look that will enhance any living space you chose to put it in. The remote control magnetically attaches to the main unit which is a nice way of keeping track of the remote. It can be controlled by the App, control panel buttons on the unit, or by the remote control.
As with any air purifier, the air filter will need to be replaced but the app will notify when it is time to purchase a new one. LG recommends the filter be changed once a year.
