Hisense does it again! I needed to upgrade my bedroom tv and I did not hesitate to think twice in getting the Hisense 55″ Class U7 series. I already had experience with the Hisense brand with my living room tv except it’s a 75″ and it’s the U6 series.
Once I received the TV the installation only took about 10-15 to get into my wall bracket. Then setting the TV up was a breeze. I like that the set up was quick once I logged into my account; all the apps were pre installed.
As soon as started watching my Hisense 55″ U7 series; I was blown away on how this TV’s performance just does it all! The picture quality is quite impressive. It’s a great TV to watch anything like shows/movies/videos in rooms that have limited lighting or are very dark. My Hisense U7 Series has a brilliant mini LED backlight as well as efficient local dimming quality which permits it to produce bright highlights and deep blacks. Unlike other TV’s that I’ve had in the past this TV has rich black levels, quality contrast, also shadow detail in dark sequences.
With it’s 4K 144hz experience, this Hisense 55″ Class U7 series is also a pretty good tv for gaming. My kids and I thoroughly enjoy playing in this TV; it has great reflection handling as well as HDR peak brightness.
Overall, this TV has exceeded my expectations above and beyond! I will definitely continue to buy from the Hisense brand series for any future upgrades.

I really like this tv, from the vivid colors and details, fast streaming, and all the way down to the remote. EXCEPT, I was unaware google TV does not carry my Xfinity streaming app. I was going to make this my main TV because I love the quality of everything, but I was disappointed to find out I have to screencast from another one of my devices if I want to watch my normal streaming cable television app. This is extremely inconvenient and Comcast and google TV need to figure this out.
The default picture quality is outstanding and it streams content flawlessly and loads everything but the internet browser (which you probably don’t need) super fast. The edges of the tv are very thin and the edge to edge picture quality is sharp, bright, and has natural vivid colors. The blacks are very black and the whites are a bright white for amazing contrast. I really like that I can hook my computer up easily and use this Hisense as a second gigantic screen for video meetings or to see the photos I am editing all blown up large with pretty close matching colors and light to my computer. My previous TV colors were no where in the range of this Hisense TV. There is a little motion blur when streaming content that has a scrolling news feed at the bottom, such as sports scores or news channel updates. This doesn’t bother me much. It’s completely legible but noticeable if you’re looking for it which I was for testing purposes. Another cool feature that really surprised me, the default speakers actually sound good. I had my soundbar connected initially but when I disconnected that to test the speakers, I was very pleasantly surprised at the sound and clarity of the speakers. Its missing the deep base from a subwoofer but the speaker quality is clear, loud if needed, and produces a pretty rich sound from a set of TV speakers.
Another thing I like about this TV, which I had missed greatly, is a normal sized remote. It is far less easily lost in couch pillows than some of the smaller streaming remotes. It has all of the buttons I need and the full size just feels better in my hand. There are one touch buttons for Netflix, YouTube, prime, Disney, Tubi, and you can designate a favorite shortcut button too. And it has a brushed metal look finish to it that looks great too.
This TV would easily be a 5 out of 5 for me if it had my cable streaming app. I like the google TV platform and it’s pretty comparable to other streaming platforms, minus Xfinity. It’s lightweight, it does almost everything I want a Smart TV to do and with great vivid colors and contrast I am very happy. I can’t use it as my main TV with the lack of the Xfinity app, but if this isn’t a problem for you, this TV is a great deal and well worth the purchase.

My wife and I decided it was time for a living room TV upgrade, and what a transformation! After researching, we stumbled upon the U7 at an unbeatable price – and it’s significantly larger than our old one. The moment we turned it on, we were blown away by the clarity and vibrancy of the colors. Plus, the audio quality is simply phenomenal. We tested it out by watching Coachella Live on YouTube, and it felt like we were right there in the crowd. The U7 truly exceeded our expectations.

The Hisense mini-LED is an excellent choice for your living room, den, or space that would see multiple users. It has a varied array of features and settings that are sure to satisfy all but those with the most demanding of viewing needs (high end PC gaming needs come to mind). But even then, comparing it to a true high end pc monitor is unfair but it can definitely be used as one in a pinch.
Out of the box the tv comes in nice and rich without being over saturated. Images are punchy without looking artificial. Skin tones and skylines look great. The auto dim feature is great. It finds a nice level of brightness and isn’t overzealous in its application. I tried this unit in two different light conditions. TV opposite wall of a large window and then the reverse, TV with its back directly to the large window and both time the tv accurately dimmed the brightness well. And with the 144hz refresh rate, live sports come in nice and smooth, very easy to track the ball. It goes without saying that console gaming benefits from the 144hz refresh rate. The speakers and built-in subwoofer fill the room and its capable enough to separate and distinguish various levels and details in even the most frenetic of action scenes.
The TV offers a bevy of options that all enrich and buttress almost all demands a viewer might need from gaming to cinematic experiences. From little quality of life settings and features like a backlit remote and Google account settings to fine tuning audio and visual, the Hisense left me impressed.

Over the past few years Hisense has become one of my favorite TV brands. They bring a mix of quality and affordability. The features on this U8 model were very impressive. Here are my thoughts.
    Pros:
    – Most newer TVs almost always require a soundbar or other audio system because of cheap or lackluster speakers. This Hisense model not only has impressive audio, but it also has a built in subwoofer that provides very good bass. I watched a few music videos over the past few days and loved the sound quality.
    – The picture quality is fantastic (check my photo of a 4k video). Movies and TV shows all looked great. I was even able to stream some older programs in 4:3 aspect ratio and the picture appeared enhanced to look HD via upscaling.
    – Packaging was solid. You always worry about screen damage when a TV is delivered, but they did a good job keeping this package secure and undamaged. The protective film and tape that covered the screen was easy to remove and ensured a flawless screen upon delivery.
    – I love the remote that this TV came with. It’s a good size and weight, and also has back-lighting on the buttons so you can see them in a dark room. But the best thing is, the back-lighting pops on as soon as you pick up the remote as it senses motion. This way, you don’t have to press a random button to see the buttons light up and possibly mess up what you were watching.
    Cons:
    – Certain apps will not be available to you on this smart TV. While I get that YouTube TV is a competitor to other services that provide live TV streaming, it’s unfortunate that I have to hook up a secondary device in order to stream those services. You’ll still have access to all the major streamers like Netflix, Peacock, MAX, Amazon Prime etc, but don’t count on having access to apps for cable companies that provide a live TV streaming service. I’ll need to hook up a Roku, Apple TV, or Xbox to this TV in order to use my live streaming TV service.
This is a great television. I recommend it for folks that are looking for mid to high end features and also don’t want to spend a ton of money. Hisense has done a great job keeping this model affordable while providing great picture and sound.
