Its one of those TV’s that you just say “Wow” when you see it in person. It’s significantly bright for an OLED. Even in broad daylight you can see the screen. Gaming on it is amazing. Im glad I saved up and purchased this, cause I would do it again and again if given the choice.

IDK, they were both in vivid modes and energy savings off, it wasn’t much of a brightness difference in my experience.
The apps also started glitching , top half and bottom half of the screen would play 2 different sources. the audio would play in the back round and the image would freeze and blink on and off . After that happened I decide to pack it up and take it back, big let down , for the price.

When playing games and watching sports the dirty screen effect was wayy too distracting. Vertical banding on my C1 was now where near this bad, un-acceptable and would have to return if I planned on keeping the TV.
The speakers this year sound horrible, it makes my C1 sound like a high quality sound bar. A big disappointment for me personally, I don’t have space for a sound bar on my TV stand, therefore I have to put up with this awful sound quality for such an expensive product.
Now for the biggest disappointment of all…
The G3 has a great technology built into the TV called “color boost”, this tech boosts color saturation and luminance to help compete against QD Oleds. Now you would think such a great feature that substantially boosts image quality would be included in Game Mode, right? After all spending 4-5 grand on a TV, you would expect the best image quality ?
But no LG for what ever reason decided to turn Color Boost OFF in Game Mode, but keep it ON in all other modes… Now this results in the image quality looking incredibly dull compared to the other picture modes. Game mode takes a very noticeable saturation and color brightness hit.
And using other pictures modes locks you out of HGIG mode for HDR which is a huge selling point for this TV.. For this reason I and many others are no longer interested in this TV, at least for the sole purpose of gaming. If you want to be best possible image qualify for gaming this TV is not the way to go.
I will be returning this TV and opting for the S95C as qd oled has better uniformity, better speakers, and the best part that is most important for me. The TV manufacturer doesn’t nerf their game picture setting for no particular reason? Very strange decision making from LG , as gamers always looked to them to be the number one go to for gaming.

Great color accuracy, looks great for 4K HDR gaming. The lack of stand is a pain for those that need one, though the G2 stand works if you need something more elegant than a generic vesa stand.

Even coming from a S95B to a G3, I am thoroughly impressed. I know there are some issues such as game mode and dolby vision, but personally, I found it to be okay for the most part. Gaming was great for input delay and still looks more beautiful than the S95B and has a great 3d effect from the HDR! Watching movies looks crisp and clean and I see no pink tinting at all. LG has put together a phenomenal challenge to the S95C and QDOLED as a whole and I can’t wait to see what this leads to! I personally use a UB820 to watch all my movies and it knocks them off! Where I had dark areas, I saw crisp detail and luminance as a result of the extra 500 nits on this panel. It even looks more lifelike. Couple this with a Sonos Arc surround sound and you’ll be set!
