I have gone through several TVs before diving into this one and spending all of that money on it. I tried MiniLED and while they were bright (sometimes too bright even) when I had the Sony x93l and this TV side by side, the color science, the contrast, everything other than brightness was just better. MiniLED suffers from blooming and slow pixel response time. The near instantaneous response time of OLED and the pixel by pixel level control of the brightness completely eliminates blooming and makes both TV watching and gaming an absolute dream. I am so so so happy to have finally jumped into OLED. Everyone who sees it loves it!

This is not the first oled for me but it is the first flagship tv (and oled). The A1 really showed me what an oled can do, even the budget ones, but it was unfortunately a little on the dim side, not fit for a bright living room. My mom had the G2 and while that TV was indeed a very good TV it did not wow me, certainly not like this one.
Even in store I could tell this TV was different, it made me fight my initial plans on buying a C3 or A80L (the A95L is just too pricy). The build quality looks premium, metal sides and a very clean and thin silhouette make this a visually attractive TV.
But that MLA panel steals the show. This thing is brighter than the S95C 77 that my parents own, and the dynamic range of its brightness is quite something. Highlights get so bright in a focused area it’s actually jarring because it feels like something I’ve never seen a TV do. As the reviews suggest, the color accuracy and vibrancy is top 3, and only surpassed by QD-OLED panels, but just by a small margin. I would argue price differences make this TV better than those. The built in OS has been pretty snappy but I tend to prefer Apple TV OS so that’s most of my experience.
Sometimes I sit and just look at it, no joke.
I did decide to return the 65, if only because the 77 G4 offered the same quality but for a true large screen experience. The 65 nearly convinced me it could handle the job on its own, it really is that good.
Prior to getting a new Apple TV to handle hdmi 2.1 (4k 60), we were watching YouTube content at 1440 upscaled 4k. The processor chip is a beast. Upscaled content was honestly nearly the same as native, with exception to some small details. Blacks are perfect, motion is handled very well. Easily contends with a95l and s95d and I would argue better. It’s got a 5 year LG warranty including burn in, very solid.
Only thing is probably sound quality, it’s not bad for a TV, but… it is still a tv speaker arrangement. We used stereo shelf speakers and so I won’t try to scrutinize them with so little use but they are ok, nothing crazy. Please get audio equipment to accompany this TV it will stifle a fantastic experience.
Overall LG has delivered the first TV that I have found to be worth it completely for a $$$$ price range, I have no regrets or even thoughts of the others being better, it just handles business. This G4 is what I have been waiting for for over a decade in my hopes. It is starting more and more to feel like the home cinema is becoming a reality, perhaps even preferred, with the evolution of each generation of OLED. You won’t be disappointed, I hope. I’m certainly not

Movies and tv shows look bright and eye searingly beautiful.

Absolutely blown away by the difference the A11 processor makes from the A9. The colors are amazing, and the brightness is eye candy. 5 year panel protection (burn in included) my CX never had any burn in over 5 years ownership with Xbox. Highly recommended!
