Got to admit I was impressed with the build and design of this laptop, it’s solid – like a tank. I would have no hesitation for throwing this guy in a bag and GOing out. Screen is great, don’t let the resolution or spec sheets scare you, gets plenty bright and is crisp – 3:2 ratio is an added delight and is perfect for productivity. I’ve read that text appears ‘grainy’ due to ‘low resolution’ and I completely disagree with both statements in my use.
It does run a bit warm to touch, but it’s not distracting with day to day light use. I will admit I saw a 2 – 4% drop in battery over 10 minutes browsing the web, nothing crazy and not viewing videos, which leads me to believe battery life won’t be amazing. The Microsoft magnetic charger is a nice touch and is very much out of the way, wireless mouse will leave you with a very clean aesthetic. Fan noise was noticeable while charging and updating. Unplugged it’s completely silent.
Keyboard is another strong point of this device, very nice and comfortable to type which is probably the best I’ve ever encountered. Lack of backlight is what it is, and keeps this laptop from being an excellent value but really, unless you’re used to working in dark rooms or looking for keys, it’s not a big deal. Trackpad is perfect and another solid win.
Can we talk about the speakers already? They’re phenomenal. Way too good to be laptop speakers and loud. Not to mention, completely hidden within the keyboard somewhere. I don’t know but I’m pretty sure it’s magic.
Performance was stellar for last year’s 11th gen, you can do some light gaming and probably some video editing and photo work without too much of a headache. I’ve attached some Geek bench scores for your approval but it doesn’t mean much to me, and if you’re looking at this laptop I doubt you care or should care about specs.
Overall this is a great laptop for the money. I wish it was closer to $500 but that’s not my job. Portability and build quality are fantastic buying points here but keyboard/trackpad, screen and sound are amazing. This is the laptop I wish I had when I was in school and would suggest for anyone looking for an all arounder that just works. Look no further, and the sage color is really something too.

All the reviews posted here covers pretty much everything about this laptop so I will focus specifically on one thing i.e., Memory Consumption here…
Fedora 36 GNOME (Linux distro installed)
8GB Memory seems not sufficient for moderate tasks. Please refer to attached screenshot. Following programs were running during screenshot was taken.
– 11 tabs open in browser (2 tabs with youtube videos streaming)
– IDE for application development open (x3 instances – front/back end applications IDE)
– Photo Viewer
– New Spreadsheet and Presentation app open
– Fedora 36 GNOME running
– File browser
– System Settings window open

The fact that this laptop is not expensive, is amazing. I love the hardware. The Screen is very nice, bright, vivid, good viewing angles. Battery life is pretty good so far, but I’ll have to use it a lot longer to find out if I can actually get the 13.5 hours they claim. I like that it at least has a full size USB port, along with the TypeC port and headphone jack. Those should be enough for most people, as you can add a monitor through the TypeC port if you wish.
Hardware is one of the most important things to me, and this laptop has great hardware. It’s small in size, but feels very premium. I like that it has a core i5 (11th gen) processor, and I can feel it sometimes. I’d say get the 8GB models, as you might need that extra RAM later down the line if you plan on using this as your only machine. It can go in any bag, and it’s so lite weight it’s in credible.
The charging is a little slower than I though it would be for a 39W charger, but it gets the job done.
The keyboard is simply great, along with the trackpad too. They have a soft touch feel to them, and for me that makes it very easy for long typing. I have yet to get tire, or feel fatigued when typing for a long period.
Sitting on my lap while using, it gets a little warm like most laptops in this position, but it’s nowhere near as bad as some of my other laptops.
The front camera is probably the weakest point on this laptop, yet good enough to get some video chat done if needed. Photos are grainy though, and I you would need perfect lighting to get a decent shot. I know most probably are not buying for this reason, but I had to point this out.
For me, this laptop is great for more than just students, it can work for anyone wanting a portable laptop with some power and a great screen. Side note, I also LOVE the color options. In the end, you will need to decide on the one that makes sense for you. I’d recommend this on it’s worst day, it’s worth it. If you can catch it on sale…get it.

Great for home personal usr. Light and portable. Screen is bright. Colors are vibrant. Love the touch screen feature.

Really enjoying my computer! It’s a little on the smaller side but I knew that when buying it so it isn’t a big issue.
