Bought this to replace my five-year-old 55” Vizio M55-E0. My Vizio had been an excellent tevelvision, though the SmartCast UI was clunky and slow to respond to inputs from the remote. Got by that issue by using a Chromecast device. When the t-con board went bad on the Vizio, I started looking. I was between Samsung, Sony, and LG. Ruled out LG based on user reviews of the UI (and previous experience of my own with a smaller LG TV). Reviews didn’t satisfy me on most Sonys, either. That left me with the Samsung Q80B and the Samsung S95B. That also put my budget all the way up to $1,800 for a TV, which I personally think no one should ever pay these days given the relative parity among TVs in a given size and class……..just too many cheaper options that are nearly as good. Still, I thought I was ready to pull the trigger on the S95B and then found multiple reviews complaining about the UI again. Fortunately, I came across this Sharp. We had a Sharp years earlier that had been stolen and it was a great set. Consumer Reports also used to consistently rate Sharp as the most reliable brand available. They were bought by Hisense in 2017, then Sharp bought the rights to their products back in 2019. So here we are with a TRUE Sharp TV again. I checked the specs and compared against what I was used to in the Vizio. Sure enough, it was pretty close, only really missing the local dimming feature. For less than $450 and with a 5-year Geek Squad plan for only $89…..I was sold (and I worked for Best Buy in high school and would never buy a service plan for most TVs since they were generally just a built-in profit upsell and could range from $200-$300, but for $89? Okay, no-brainer). Came out under $575 total and to my surprise, the TV is actually pretty darned good. No complaints so far and have to say that the Roku UI is superb. No longer any need for my Chromecast. It’s SO easy and fast (and though I’m quite tech-savvy, I LOVE simplicity and responsiveness). I’ll just say, I’m not regretting paying so much less than I was ready to and getting everything I really needed anyway. Great job on this set, Sharp (and Best Buy)! My only complaint is that the wall mounting instructions are non-existent and the bolts recommended in the manual are incorrect. It needs two sizes which it says are M6 x 30mm and ST6 x 8mm. Both of these sizes are nearly impossible to find and the ST6 is a self-tapping screw. You don’t want to use that on your TV. You need an M6 x 35mm with a 5mm spacer on the top two holes and an M6 x 12mm will fit just fine for the bottom two. The bracket thickness should create enough space for those 12mm screws to fit the shallow holes perfectly. Other than this minor point of frustration, you can’t go wrong with this unit.

I really wanted to give this 5 stars since I was glad Sharp got another TV available in the US market… But I was really underwhelmed. I currently have a Sharp LC-60UD27(2015 release) and I will say that my older Sharp isn’t much different in terms of picture quality. Colors and blacks in this one is just slightly better. Settings on this new Sharp TV is very limited and motion wasnt as good as my older Sharp. You will need a sound bar as speakers are pretty bad. I’m still giving it 4 stars though since it is STILL a decent TV for the price but will be returning since it’s not much of an upgrade for me. It’ll be good as a guest room or bedroom. TV Sharp really needs to come back to the US market with their premium TVs. Would love to have them around again!

So far so good! I have had Sharp TV’s in the past and I’m hoping this one proves to be as reliable as the others have been
