I love this TV. It gets bright enough to make you squint and the colors are insane while remaining accurate. I also love the stand design, it’s unique and gives it a more premium feel. I don’t use the built in speakers but I easily could, they’re weirdly good. I have two complaints, wish all 4 HDMI ports did Dolby Vision and 120hz, only two of them do. And the price is a little insane, though I do not feel like I spent too much personally. But if you can wait for QD OLEDS to go down in price I would, I just really needed an upgrade from my 43 inch TCL.

Sony A95K 55” vs Sony A80K 55”
Originally I purchased the A80K and used it for a week. There’s plenty of great things about it such as; fantastic color accuracy/reproduction, Sony processing picture quality, great motion handling, and super inky blacks. The only issue for me is the brightness!
If you’re using this TV in a darker room (comes with a backlit remote), you’re perfectly fine. If you’re using this in a room where light shines in majority of the time, this is not a great option.
I went out and purchased the Sony A95K 55” to compare with the A80K. I sat them next to each other and set all picture settings on each tv to their respective defaults. I played the same videos at the exact same time with the same settings streaming 4K SDR and HDR content.
The A95K utilizes a QD-OLED panel instead of a W-OLED. Sony explains it best on their website, “ Pairing our XR OLED Contrast Pro and OLED(QD-OLED) panel, this TV delivers up to 200% as much colour brightness as conventional OLED TVs, bringing scenes alive with pure blacks and our brightest colours”. Don’t get me wrong, the A80K is a great TV, but the A95K is on a different level.
The only issue is the price of the A95K. If that is the case for you, some amazing alternative options; Samsung S95B, Sony A90K/A80K, LG G2, and the LG C2/C1/CX.

Best television I’ve ever owned. Remote control is great, too. Calibration settings out of the box is excellent. There’s even a Netflix calibration when you use. their app which is available in the set. Built-in speakers is better than most TV’s of this style.

This Sony A95K hits different! It’s worth it for the full price but I go it for during the Black Friday sale while it was $500 off and had a $539 store credit plus a $50 gift card and a $55 rewards certificate. It’s worth it especially during right now I got it specifically to watch the 2022 World Cup and the games look magnificent it’s beautiful you’ll be left with no words but just to stare at this beauty all day. If anyone rates this 3 stars or less they don’t know tech ignore those ratings and especially the guy that complain about the remote thats got nothing to do with the t.v. And the remote is actually badass and pretty simple to use and also lights up so could be useful for night so it’s a pretty decent dope remote too. Trust this rating when you read this I’ve been shopping only at Best Buy since 2015 and I’ve literally have bought almost every new t.v that comes out yearly and trust me when I tell you this the Sony A95K hits different and you will not be disappointed this might be my last t.v for a good while I also play my ps5 on this t.v and looks great too. So remember anyone rating 3 for no good reason or under they don’t know tech or how to give a rating.

Bought this mainly for gaming and the much needed HDMI 2.1 for use with my ps5. I know there are more gaming oriented Tvs like the LG c2 and g2 but i really wanted the QD panel thats on this one. Reds, greens and Blues just look amazing on this Tv thanks to the QD panel it has. This is the first time i experience this level of HDR. This is also my first Oled experience so it quite an upgrade from what i was use to. Got this just in time to play God of War Ragnarök and its been quite the experience. Getting the vibrant colors and the smoothness of vrr and higher refresh rates is truly game changing. Also Playing Modern warfare 2 and warzone on this at 120hz is awesome. Playing mouse and keyboard for MW2 on this Tv is actually a thing now thanks to the higher refresh rates and responsiveness of the Tv. Streaming content and movies also look great on this display. Even older movies and shows look better as well. Tried dolby vision using my xbox to watch the Matrix off HBO and boy was it nice. The muzzle flashes off the gun fire looked almost real with how good the HDR was. Aside from the quality of the image the TV also has a really nice build quality to it. Is thin and sturdy but not too thin like the samsung S95b. Its one of the main reasons i chose this over the S95b. The build quality on this is unmatched. Also i really like that it has a google operating system. The TV feels responsive and quick to start. Also it has some neat features for the ps5. The ps5 will automatically go into rest mode if you turn off the tv. If you turn on the ps5 the Tv will turn on and switch to the ps5 input by itself. Those are some nice little quality of life features. Comes with a nice remote as well. Buttons are back lit and cones with google assistance. So you can use the remote as a mic and talk into it to search things for you. Its very accurate and a lot better than typing things in manually. Overall im very happy with this TV so worth it. The only tiny negative i can say so far is the lack of Hgig support for hdr tone mapping for gaming but thats a very minor nit pick. The gradation preferred Tone mapping still looks great just as long as you have your ps5 hdr set correctly. Worth every penny. I’m a happy camper. Heres to the next 5 years of gaming on this puppy
