1 of the best cameras I’ve used especially for landscape photography. The buttons feel nice, same grip as the a7iii, and everything just feels so nice & smooth when using the cam.

This camera is amazing. No complaints and the great part about buying it from Best Buy was all the price fixes I’ve been able to get since it has dropped.
Got it in September, upgraded from the a6600 and what an upgrade it is. If you love the Sony family, you’ll enjoy this even more! Sony makes a solid camera with this. I mainly use it for photography. Here’s some of the shots I took on it.

Composition can make or break a great photo. With the A7R3, if you get the composition wrong, the ability to crop maintaining incredible detail is amazing to get that just right composition. The eye auto focus is amazingly fast and the 10 fps shooting is incredible. I recommend getting the UHS-II card for this camera. Keep in mind that only one slot is UHS-II and the other UHS-I. It would have been nice to have both at UHS-II. It would have been nice to have the Sony UHS-II reader as a companion to this camera included instead of separate purchase but that has nothing to do with the camera. As far as the camera, the battery life is nearly all day for the hobbyist but I recommend carry of a second battery. With the prior generation, I had to carry 4 batteries. This is a huge plus on great battery life. I like the dual slots. A pro camera to never miss a shot as I have two SD cards in the camera and the 2nd SD Card always serves as a backup to the 1st. With the great ISO and 5-axis stabilization, I can finally take evening shots without a tripod and really capture the moment.

I shot Nikon for 8 years… 8 YEARS! from d3200 to d7100, to d750 all the way up the d810… Every upgrade gave me something slightly better but overall it was still really about the same camera. Better ISO, more megapixels, and so on, But the way I shot never really changed. I could produce amazing results on either one of the nikons without ever really feeling like the camera was any better. The auto focus, no matter how much hype there was with every upgrade, frankly still felt like I still had to do all the work. Tracking, framing, focus recompose, hold the camera steady/”properly”, or get a OS lens, shaky hands? sorry shoot higher shutter speeds. ALL on me as if Auto focus was somehow a required skill for photographers… But this…this is a whole new world. would you ever shoot sports with say…a 85mm prime on nikon or canon? probably not. But on the R3, sony says “here shoot what you want, how you want, when you want, and hey here’s 42 megapixles at 10fps for the blank of it, oh and only $3200”
WHAT?! To get that kind of performance on nikon or canon you would have to spend $6000 dollars, and you STILL dont get a live image preview, you still dont get a true silent shutter, and you STILL dont get a fully customizable button layout. AND I MEAN FULLY custom. Like i can set individual buttons to focus areas with different shutter, iso , and aperture combos. YEAH. Sony litterally said “DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT WITH THIS” its insane. Oh yeah and 5 axis image stabilization makes it so irrelevant stuff like camera holding etiquette can jump off a bridge. Ive shot portraits one handed with the camera parrallel to my body, WHILE holding the camera BY THE LENS! DO WHAT YOU WANT! Best camera on the market for sure.
