One of the best things about this soundbar is the “Sony Home Entertainment Connect App,” which makes setup a breeze. With just one HDMI cable connected to my TV’s HDMI eARC port and a few minutes with the Android app, I was able to quickly connect my soundbar to my TV and enjoy it.
While watching movies and TV shows, I noticed the audio sounded large and 3D and the dialogue clarity was exceptional on this unit. This soundbar can put out a lot of volume, making it ideal for larger rooms.
The Sony HT-S2000 also sounds great when playing music. However, I noticed it was lacking a bit of low end, which could be remedied by adding a subwoofer to the setup. Doing so can make the system feel more high-end and provide a more immersive listening experience. Additionally, rear speakers could be added to the system to make it an even more captivating, surround sound listening experience.
Mounting the soundbar onto the TV is easy thanks to the rear keyholes. I was able to mount it to my TV with a universal soundbar mount without issue. However, a potential negative I found is that the power adapter is not integrated into the soundbar, so users will need to deal with a power brick in line with the power cable. This can make it difficult to hide the cable in a wall channel. On other soundbars I have used, this was integrated into the soundbar and the whole length of the AC cable was able to be ran through a cable raceway.
Overall, the Sony HT-S2000 is a great soundbar for anyone looking for a simple setup and good sound quality. While it may require a subwoofer to reach its full potential, the dialogue clarity and volume output make it a worthwhile investment.

The sleak profile slides right under my new Sony X90L and works and sounds very well. Comes with a remote and controls on top of the sound bar. Works and sounds great in our home. Will recommend to others because I would buy it again.

Which is excellent in a speaker system, weight in my experience is typically attributed to the quality of speaker magnets.
Next plus for me when I unpacked the Sony HT-2000 was that the five front-firing speakers are visible through the grill. Like that, looking good. Equally appealing is the compact size of the unit which is right at 2.6’, compared to other units that stretch out to 4’ in width.
The HT-S2000 has left, right and three center speakers as well as dual-subwoofers. The five front facing speakers individually measure approximately 3.25×1.75 each and deliver crystal clear mid and high range sound reproduction.
For full surround sound theater, the HT-S2000 supports connecting wirelessly to external Sony subwoofer (SA-SW5 or SA-SW3) and rear speakers (SA-RS3S). Additionally, you can connect “Blu-ray Disc player, set-top box, cable box, gaming console, etc.”
Sony’s Home Entertainment Connect App delivers an easy straight forward Installation, and you can be quickly connected to the TV and up and running. Speaker may be installed to the wall or optional TV bracket system for attaching to the TV.
In addition to controlling the HT-2000 with the Sony Home Entertainment App the HT-S2000 can be managed with Sony’s Bravia XR TV remote through the Quick Settings menu. The system comes with a remote for managing settings, my TV and cable remotes worked flawlessly without having to re-enter codes.
The TV that I connected the HT-S2000 to was installed with a swivel wall mount, so I opted for bracket system that allowed me to attach the soundbar to the TV. This option takes a bit longer in mounting the bracket system to the TV mount. Excellent setup, speaker is always centered when changing TV angle.
Listening: When mounted and turned on I first sound tested with Dune the movie, it was rocking with broad, in-depth, immersive tunes with the Bass set at Mid-level (3 subwoofer settings Min/Mid/Max). Cranked Dune up to 100%, stunning sound – clear voice track and soundtrack – zip distortion. Impressive.
Notes:
Output: eARC/ARC – HDMI eARC cable included which supports 48Gbs
Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force Pro Front Surround – Tech behind the Magic
Dolby Atmos
DTS:X
BRAVIA Sync
Bluetooth 5.2
USB Type A – for external storage
Weight: 8 lb 3 oz (3.7 kg)
Dimensions: 31 1/2 in × 2 5/8 in × 5 in (800 mm × 64 mm × 124 mm)
Would like to see an update for the speaker offering the option to view volume on the TV screen.
Have been an audiophile since my first funky little mono record player, a few years back, and since then have been enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction and my love for music. That said, I can share that the Sony HT-S2000 is an exceptional system, first rate sound, tech, design, construction and the bottom-line is the HT-S2000 enhances Home Theater brilliantly.

I am blown away by the sound that comes out of this little soundbar. I was using another soundbar for a few years and I thought it sounded good and I had no complaints, boy was I wrong! When this soundbar showed up at my doorstep I had little hope for it and was just excited to test out a new product in the sound space which I haven’t done too much experimenting with before. When opened the box Sony had the soundbar and its components on display, it was beautiful. My excitement started to rise. I took the soundbar out of the box and put it on the mantel right under the TV, plugged in the eARC HDMI and the power source. I followed the easy setup guide, and when I say easy… I had it set up within 3 minutes. It just connected, perfectly, without hassle. It was go-time. As soon as the TV turned on and the first set of sound waves came booming out of the front mesh, my wife and I both looked at each other wide-eyed as we did not expect how incredible the sound would be. It was time to start playing with the new device and see just how much we can push it to get the best sound out of it we could.
The Sony HT-S2000 is a 3.1-channel soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, two popular object-based surround sound formats. It is an upper mid-range soundbar with a sleek design that can easily blend with most modern home entertainment setups. I think Sony has done an incredible job engineering this soundbar, it comes with a center speaker, dual “subwoofers”, and two outer speakers. The S-Force Pro Front Surround teamed up with the Vertical Surround Engine completes the package with a sound that boasts balance, and depth, all with an immersive sound.
The Sony HT-S2000 has a total power output of 250 watts, which is more than enough to fill a small or medium-sized room with clear and detailed audio. The soundbar supports high-resolution audio playback especially when teamed up with your TV’s eARC HDMI output. I highly recommend using eARC if your TV is equipped! The Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) is the upgraded version of the older ARC HDMI output, essentially eARC gives a massive boost in bandwidth and speed over the previous ARC HDMI. This lets higher-quality audio flow from your TV to the soundbar supporting the latest high-bitrate audio formats up to 192kHz, 24-bit, and uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1, and 32-channel uncompressed audio.
TV and movies now sound fantastic, in my house they have never sounded better. Other than TV or movies, this soundbar also has Bluetooth 5.2 and easily connects to smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc., and enables the ability to change chore-inducing background music into an all-out dance party! I used to use a portable speaker when listening to music around the house, now it’s the soundbar. This soundbar comes with a remote and even came with batteries! There is an app you can download for both iPhone and Android which gives more control of the sound settings, software updates, new features, and even a user guide.
What’s in the box? In the neatly packaged box comes a remote control, batteries for the remote, HDMI cable, AC cord, AC adapter, wall mounting template, quick setup guide, and a bunch of the standard paperwork.
Overall, I am extremely happy with this soundbar. I am blown away by its ability to produce 3D cinematic surround sound right in my living room. Sony has add-on speakers to purchase separately as well that pair nicely with this soundbar, such as rear wireless speakers and a couple of subwoofer options. I am so pleased with this soundbar, I am contemplating pursuing those add-on speakers to really get the full effect of Dolby-Atmos and boost up family movie nights.
Pros:
The sound. It’s INCREDIBLE! Completely changed television and movies.
Looks amazing, sleek, and modern.
The setup was a breeze, almost too easy.
5ch amplifier
250 Watts of pure power!
It gets low. Hits the higher spectrum of lows, but the bass is fantastic for a soundbar.
Bluetooth 5.2
Supports eARC HDMI, ARC backward compatible.
Bravia Sync
Audio formats with eARC – Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Dual mono, DTS, DTS HD High-Resolution Audio, DTS HD Master Audio, DTS ES, DTS 96 / 24, DTS:X, LPCM
Audio formats with Optical Input – Dolby Digital, Dolby Dual mono, DTS, LPCM 2ch

CONS:
Honestly not many, if you even consider them cons. I had to find something!
No upward-firing speakers
The lows kind of disappear when music is played loudly. But I mean, it’s common in soundbars… That’s why they have add-on speakers!
No wall mounting brackets, but they do supply a template!
