I am overly impressed with this TCL 65 Q6 TV. I wasn’t expecting such performance from a tv priced this low so that’s awesome!
In 2023 this is the best value TV out there hands down! No other 65″ at this price would perform like this one does it. It comes with some slim tv support to match it’s slim bezels and a cool remote that supports voice comands. The tv it’s self it’s light and gives you that infinity look from those almost non existent bezels. The connections are standard / 3 hdmi, 1 usb, audio jack, ethernet port, audio optic and cable tv \
But what makes this tv so awesome besides it’s design is that color reproduction and picture quality overall. Being a direct-lit tv helps drastically with the black levels and the quantum dot technology makes it very useful in bright rooms without compromising the picture quality.
I have it in my living room where it is surrounded by 6 large windows and i noticed that they build the screen panel in such way to deflect the light that comes in contact with delivering in this way the same great picture quality!
The speakers they are there, nothing special like the rest of the tv. But WoW this tv is bright and does a great job on it’s picture reproduction in any condition! And not to forget that low low price i feel like it a complete steal!

I have been wanting a 65 inch TV for sometime, so I was excited to get this TV. It has taken me awhile to get it set up since the manual indicated that the stand separation was 54.3 inches and my current TV stand is 47 inch Long 16 inches Wide. I made several trips looking for a new TV stand and searched the web. Most online stores require assembly. I finally found a top to extend the length of my stand. We put on the legs and discovered that there were 2 options for the location of stand legs and they magically fit into a space of 36 inches! Thus the reason for removing one star! I hooked up the TV to my WIFI but I had great difficulty getting logged into my Goggle/Gmail account. I knew my password but it would not recognize the password. Then it wouldn’t recognize my recovery account which is an iCloud account. It finally let me reset my password (using my original password) and I was finally logged in. There were lots of options of show on Goggle TV but we were in the process of watching a series on Hulu. I could not find the Hulu app which seemed strange since Prime was there as well as the Disney Channel that owns Hulu. I found a Hulu show and it then wanted to download the Hulu app but it kept saying that it was Pending. I have High Speed Fiber At this house so I don’t think it was my internet. We finally had to settle watching a movie on Prime. Later, I Goggled about how to get Hulu and a couple of YouTubers just said to hook up a Roku so once I did this, I got Hulu and all of my favorite apps.
The color and resolution was fantastic! I was also very happy that we could hear the voice and we will not need to add a sound bar. I just set up another new TV and the sound was horrible and we then needed to buy a sound bar. So after getting everything working, I really like this TV but I don’t know why set-up needs to be so difficult since there would be many people that would not have the technical skills to do this. At least this TV had a printed Manual and many new devices only have an online version.

—– SUMMARY —–
Verdict:
With its vibrant and sharp image quality, the TCL Q6 offers a captivating entertainment experience. The integration of Google TV makes using the TV and finding a wide range of content simple. The addition of “Game Accelerator” and AMD FreeSync make the TCL Q6 great for gaming as well. Although the built-in speakers are some of the best I’ve heard on a TV, you might still want to pair this excellent TV with an equally impressive sound system for the best home theater experience. Overall, if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck smart 4K TV, the TCL Q6 should be at the top of your list.
Pros:
– Thin profile and bezel-less design
– Adjustable width feet
– 4K Ultra HD resolution
– Bright, vivid, and captivating image
– High framerate with AMD FreeSync for gameplay
– Good audio for built-in speakers
– Google TV operating system
– Voice remote control included
Cons:
– None
—– DETAILS —–
Design:
The thin profile and metal bezel-less frame are my favorite design aspects of the TCL Q6. It’s a sleek and modern-looking TV. I also like that the foot positions are adjustable. One position is narrower to accommodate smaller tabletop sizes while still maintaining stability.
On the back of the TV, there is one USB 3.0 port, an Ethernet port, three HDMI inputs (one of which is eARC), a cable/antenna input, an AV input, a headphone output, and a digital audio optical output. These meet my connectivity needs and are pretty standard across TVs on the market.
Image Quality:
High brightness, vivid colors, and 4K Ultra HD Resolution produce a captivating image on the TCL Q6. Whether I’m gaming or watching a TV show or movie, the crisp and lifelike image never ceases to impress me. The TCL Q6 has HDR technology which helps produce accurate and rich colors. Other 4K TVs with comparable image quality are priced significantly higher, so the TCL Q6 is tough to beat when it comes to value.
Gaming:
This TV has TCL’s new “Game Accelerator” feature that delivers higher framerates which translates into smoother gameplay. You also get AMD FreeSync. After setting up my Xbox and testing it out, I wasn’t disappointed. It performed just as well as my high-framerate PC gaming monitor. The caveat is that the 4K vertical resolution is cut in half. That said, the framerate this TV offers at its price point is still impressive. If you’d like native 4K gaming at 120Hz, consider stepping up to TCL’s Q7.
Features & Software:
As someone heavily invested in the Google ecosystem, I was happy to find that Google TV is built into the TCL Q6. Whether you’re a Google fan or not, I think you’ll enjoy the interface. It manages to bring everything together in one place and be simple to use. What makes it even better is the included voice remote that allows you to easily navigate or find what you’re looking for. For example, you could make a precise request like “Take me to Netflix”, or an inspirational one like “Show me action movies”.
Having Google TV built-in offers a variety of other features I find useful, like the ability to cast content from your phone, set up a personalized profile for curated recommendations, or make a watchlist that combines movies and shows from various apps into one easy-to-access list.
Another neat feature worth mentioning is Bluetooth Personal Audio. It allows you to connect and listen through Bluetooth headphones. This is perfect for when I want to quietly watch a show or game while my wife is napping.
Audio:
The speakers on the TCL Q6 are quite good. With DTS Virtual:X, an audio technology that delivers 3D sound, you get somewhat of a home theater experience. I say somewhat because it’s just not going to beat a soundbar and subwoofer combo or a surround sound speaker system. However, what TCL can do with the built-in speakers is commendable.

The TCL 65Q650G QLED 4K HDTV picture is vibrant with excellent color reproduction, making at least some videos look better than any other 65″ QLED TV I’ve owned (this is our third in the last five years). When you investigate all the various TV display technologies, you’ll see they all have positives and negatives regardless of how much you spend – this one is a good option at its price point. The black colors look dark enough for my liking, and the bright colors shine brightly. I’ve noticed no problem with the smoothness of motion on this television.
The built-in sound (without external speakers) is good but could be better. This TCL TV does not have the deep bass sound of our Samsung TV, but you can hook up a sound-bar if that’s important to you. I did hook up a Bose sound-bar via HDMI eARC, and it worked fine, with no lip-syncing issues. I’m leaving that connected at this time.
The Google TV (smart tv function) was easy to set up (having an Android phone may have helped), but admittedly took probably 15-20 minutes to set up (I had a lot of initial apps to install, but app support is terrific). We’re watching Hulu right now as I write this part of the review, and we also tried out Netflix, Max, Paramount+, YouTube, Peacock, Disney+, and more. There were even apps for some online technical classes I get through a subscription, and you can find fitness apps and videos.
Built-in Chromecast is great to have. If it didn’t have that, I would purchase a Chromecast adapter. In settings, there is an option not to notify the other Android devices on the same Wi-Fi if I’m casting (by default, everyone on the same Wi-Fi could either ‘stop casting’ or ‘pause’ or some limited other options). Among other things, I already used Chromecast to cast an exercise video from YouTube (my doctor said I needed to lose weight) and did a phone screen mirroring cast separately.
I plugged in an external Apple TV device, as our cable company lets us get the channels from that, and the TV remote conveniently worked the Apple TV without having to use the Apple remote.
After initial testing in the living room, I placed this TCL TV in my bedroom, and it looks enormous compared to the 42.5″ TV I had there before this one. I checked, and there was a sleep timer option which I will most certainly use if I want to have the TV help me fall asleep at nighttime (or for a nap). It appeared that if I was running an app on the TV and turned on the sleep timer, the app I was running quit, but if I was viewing the Apple TV (HDMI input), there were no issues with the sleep timer.
THANKS TO ITS SPEED AND FEATURES, this TV is much more usable than my prior television. I anticipate many years of enjoyment of this television before I’d need to replace this one.
